Have You Been Impressed With NBA Basketball Dunks?

What you may not know about NBA basketball dunks

NBA basketball dunks are the highlight of any game, but mostly because of the skill and talent that it takes to perform them. While there are competitions for the best NBA basketball dunks, it’s the ones during the game that really impress. Here are a few things that you may not have known about NBA basketball dunks.

Dunking to impress

NBA basketball dunks are great fun for the fans to watch, but the players also love to challenge themselves and hear the extra cheers.

One of the more popular dunking styles at the moment is skywalking.

In this, the NBA basketball dunks are said to be performed by skywalkers or aerial artists. All these players seem to ‘hang’ in the air before the dunk occurs.

Players like Kobe Bryant, Steve Francis, and Jason Richardson.

While most NBA basketball dunks are performed by the light forwards, this doesn’t mean that those players are the only ones.

Powering up the dunk

And then there are the power NBA basketball dunks.

These are dunks that use the most force possible in order to stuff the ball through the net.

Players like Antonio Davis, Chris Webber, Kevin Garnett, and Rasheed Wallace are given credit for being power dunkers. The immense force they use is quite a sight to behold.

Most of the power dunkers are power forwards or centers, and also traditionally the taller or more muscular players on the teams, though not always.

Shaq used to break the backboards with his NBA basketball dunks.

Jump around, jump around

The last category of NBA basketball dunks is jumping.

These dunks are usually reserved for the shorter players that most would not consider able to dunk: think Spud Webb and other vertically challenged basketball players.

What happens with these NBA basketball dunks is that the player runs to the basket before jumping vertically to make the dunk.

All NBA basketball dunks are amazing to watch, just harder to duplicate.
